How To Use It?
- Patch Test First: Before your first application, do a patch test on a small, discreet area of skin (like the inside of your arm) to check for irritation.
- Cleanse Your Skin: Wash your face with a gentle, hydrating cleanser and pat it completely dry. Applying retinol to damp skin can increase irritation.
- Apply a Small Amount: Squeeze out only a pea-sized amount of cream for your entire face. Using more will not speed up the results and will only increase the chance of irritation.
- Spread Evenly: Gently dot the cream across your forehead, cheeks, and chin before smoothing it over your face and neck. Avoid the sensitive eye area.
- Use a Moisturizer: If you have sensitive or dry skin, consider the "moisturizer sandwich" method. Apply a layer of plain moisturizer before and after the retinol cream to buffer its effects.
- Build Up Frequency: Begin by applying the cream only 1–2 times per week. As your skin builds tolerance, you can gradually increase frequency to every other night, and eventually every night if your skin tolerates it well.
- Prioritize Sun Protection: Retinol increases your skin's sensitivity to the sun. Daily use of a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher sunscreen is crucial every morning, even on cloudy days.
