Active Ingredients
POLYHYDROXY ACIDS (PHA)
The gluconolactone is a PHA obtained by fermentation of glucose syrup derived from corn. It is then purified in several steps and finally obtained in its purest form.
The polyhydroxy acids (PHA) provide exfoliation, skin smoothing, less visible pores and anti-ageing effects, and are less irritating than AHAs and BHAs.
The PHAs have a longer OH chain, which means they are bigger molecules than AHAs and BHAs, which is why they cannot penetrate as far, so they are less likely to cause skin irritation and dryness.
The PHAs are considered suitable for sensitive skin.
